As I discussed about half wave rectifier simulation with
capacitor filter using National instruments NI Multisim software, in this previous
post, in this blogpost, i am giving breadboard implementation of the same. Before
going to video please do read some basics of rectifier given below. Rectifiers
are electronic devices that are mainly used to convert Alternating quantities
(AC) into non-sinusoidal pulsating DC. This conversion of AC to DC is due to
number of reasons like some gadgets or equipments in our house or workplace
needs DC supply where we have AC supply as a input all over. in such cases
rectifiers with additional components like filters, voltage regulators are
used. The main component used in rectifiers is diode due to its switching
action. They will conduct Current only in one direction, hence the voltage. So
we can use them as rectifiers to make the alternating Current unidirectional.
Rectifiers are classified into three categories:-
i.
Half wave rectifier (consists only one diode)
ii.
Full wave rectifier (consists two diodes)
iii.
Bridge rectifier (consists four
diodes)

Input and output waveform of Half wave rectifier
in above waveform, blue wave indicates the input AC supply and red one is showing output of half wave rectifier
I made this educational video for demonstration of the practical / experiment of half wave rectifier on the bread board in hindi and english. I tried to explain each and every term related to the rectifier as simple as possible. half wave rectifier practical includes rectifier theory and practical explaination. half wave rectifier on breadboard
Equipments and components used experiment
0) Here scientech 801 CRO is
used for demonstration of half wave rectifier.
components used are
1. 1n4003
pn junction diode
2. centre
tap transformer 12-0-12 volt
3. resistor
value 1k - 10k ohm
4. connecting
wires
5. breadboard
6. CRO
